Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy is part of the Ants Terms of Service. It applies to everything you ask Ants to do, everything you upload, and every app you build or publish. That includes content your app's own users post in it. If your app accepts user content, you are responsible for moderating it.
1. What you may not build or publish
Fraud, scams and deception
- Phishing pages; sites or screens that imitate a real bank, payment app, government service, marketplace, login page or brand to mislead people.
- Fake receipts, payment confirmations, balances, transfer screens, documents or IDs.
- Disposable or fake phone numbers for receiving verification codes, or tools to evade identity checks.
- Pyramid or Ponzi schemes, pay-to-earn schemes, promises of investment returns, and unlicensed loans, crypto or investment offers.
- Fake reviews or endorsements, or impersonation of real people or organisations.
Gambling
- Casinos, betting, lotteries, paid-entry sweepstakes, or games of chance played for money or anything of value.
Sexual and exploitative content
- Any content that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities and close the account.
- Pornography and sexually explicit services, including AI "nude" or undressing image generators.
- Intimate or sexual images of real people without their consent, and sexual deepfakes of real people.
Cheats and breaking other platforms' rules
- Cheats, hacks, aimbots, injectors or "sensitivity" tools that give an unfair advantage in third-party games.
- "Free" virtual-currency generators, and sales of game accounts, items or currency where the game prohibits them.
- Ban-evasion tools, and proxies or "unblocked" sites built to get around school, workplace or parental filters.
Intellectual property and likeness
- Using other people's trademarks, logos, characters or game names in a way that suggests the app is theirs or endorsed by them.
- Copies of films, series, anime, music, books or games, or apps that stream or distribute them without the rights.
- Using a real person's name, image or likeness without permission.
- Distributing third-party apps (including APKs), software or modified versions of them without the rights.
Harm, violence and illegal activity
- Content that promotes or gives instructions for self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Threats, harassment, doxxing or stalking, and tools for secretly monitoring people.
- Hate speech, and content that incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or extremism.
- Sale of illegal or restricted goods, such as drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, or prescription medicines.
- Malware, spyware, credential stealers and spam tools, and apps that attack, scan or overload other systems.
- Collecting, scraping or selling personal data unlawfully.
- Anything else that is illegal in the UAE or where the app is offered.
2. Sensitive apps: allowed with safeguards
These apps are allowed if they include the safeguards listed. Do not remove safeguards that Ants adds automatically.
| App type | Required safeguards |
|---|---|
| Mental health, emotional support, or anything touching on self-harm or suicide | Crisis resources visible on every page, such as CVV 188 (Brazil), Samaritans 116 123 (UK), 988 (US) or findahelpline.com. A statement that the app does not replace professional help. |
| Health, fitness and diet | No diagnosis or treatment claims, and no extreme weight-loss targets. |
| Money and finance tools | No promises of returns, and nothing presented as licensed financial advice. |
| Apps for children | Compliance with the child privacy and safety laws where the app is offered. No unmoderated contact with strangers. |
| Apps with user posts, chat or dating | A way for users to report content, and moderation of what is reported. |
| Apps that collect personal data or take payments | A privacy notice for your users. Payments only through a recognised payment provider. Never ask users for card numbers or passwords directly. |
| AI chat and image features | Tell users they are interacting with AI. Keep generated content within this policy. |
| Fan sites and parody | Clearly marked as unofficial. No official logos, and nothing that suggests endorsement. |
3. Screening and reports
Screening. We check requests and apps automatically. Ants may decline a request, suggest a version it can build, or keep an app offline. You remain responsible for what you build.
Reporting an app. Anyone can report an app through the "Report" link on the app, or by emailing [email protected] with the app's address and the problem.
Intimate images. If an app shows intimate images of you without your consent, email [email protected]. We will remove them promptly.
Copyright and trademark complaints. Send complaints to [email protected]. Include:
- your name, address, email and phone;
- the work or mark concerned;
- the app's address and the specific material;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your complaint is accurate and that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We will remove or disable the material where appropriate and tell the app owner. The app owner may send a counter-notice to [email protected]. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
4. Enforcement and appeals
Depending on the breach, we may:
- remove content;
- unpublish an app;
- suspend building;
- suspend or close your account;
- report the matter to the authorities.
We may act without warning. Credits used on removed content are not refunded.
We will tell you the reason for any action against your app or account, unless the law prevents it. You can appeal by replying to our notice or by writing to [email protected]. A person will review the decision.
